THANK YOU!

Welcome to the Website for Jan LaSalle

A foundation is being set up by some friends who have known Jan across the years and care enough to make this effort.  Jan was born in Fulton, MO in 1952 and grew up in the Church of God of [Holiness].  Her maiden name was Janette Shiverdecker.  She attended school at Mount Zion Bible School at Ava, MO.  She entered college at the Kansas City College and Bible School.  From there she went on to Hobe Sound Bible College.  She graduated from Fort Scott Junior College with an associate degree in business.

Music

Music has always been a first love for her.  Piano was her instrument and she took 17 years of study along with a natural gift and ear for the keyboard.  She was the accompanist for several choirs and for the Overcomers, a campus ministry during the 70’s.

Info

In 1974, Jan married Ray LaSalle, an evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene.  They traveled the United States holding an average of 50 campaigns a year.  Together they sang and played their own accompaniment.  After 15 years of traveling, they settled into pastoring.  For 2 ½ they pastored in Brazil, Indiana.  Then they moved to Bucyrus, Ohio, where they've been ever since.  They've enjoyed the ministry in this small rural city in North Central Ohio.  The church building is a beautiful facility with a thriving, growing congregation of caring, loving people.

Jan is the mother of two wonderful, beautiful children who are now grown.  Renee is 25 and is anchoring the news for an ABC affiliate TV station in Mississippi.  Roger is 23 and is a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for Adena Hospital in Chillicothe, Ohio.  Both are serving the Lord.

Ray is continuing to pastor the church in Bucyrus.  On February 22nd, 2003, Jan had a type of heart attack that caused her heart to beat so fast that it was not pumping blood to her brain.  By the time the rescue squad arrived to revive her, her brain was deprived of oxygen so long, that it left her brain damaged.  For two years she has been in a local nursing home.  Jan is pretty much unaware of her surroundings.  She does respond to simply questions most of the time.

In April, encouraged by friends of the family, Ray had a CD made of Jan’s piano stylings.  It is available by mail for $18.00 to all that want to write for it.

The proceeds from it will go entirely toward the care of this beautiful wife and mother.

The Foundation

The foundation that is being set up will allow people to give toward the expense of her care and will help to lighten the load for the family.  Plans are underway to allow this site to receive notes of encouragement.  Your prayers are appreciated as well.
